It seems I can never fully get my head around a project until I have purchased the materials and made the first cuts. That’s usually when I decide that I don’t like my current plan and come up with something new. Do you do that, or is it just me?
So, that said, I thought my first plan might be a little too bulky for the space. I also found the following photos:
Simply gorgeous–all of them!
Notice a common theme? I like doors. Doors hide stuff. They create an illusion of a clean, organized home. (An illusion in my home anyway–“Don’t open that!!!”). 🙂
So I’m back to the drawing board again. The bench is going to be transformed into drawers. And it looks like I will be tackling doors again! Hopefully this project won’t take as long as the master bathroom!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Home Depot awaits.

I like the first and third pictures. And yes, much to the chagrin of my husband I do this too…

I do this too, much to the chagrin of my infinitely patient bf. The second and third ones look the most practical to me – who wants to clean out drawers of shoe dirt out? much easier to sweep or vacuum the entire floor at once 🙂 I also think having the flooring visible keeps the space from ending up too claustrophobic.

Your inspiration images are lovely. It should be fun to see what direction you choose to follow.

Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog. I love meeting new people, that’s why I blog, it’s opened up a whole world to me. I will follow your renovations with interest. I love watching real people make a difference to their surroundings.
Keep in touch and stop by now and then.

You know, a variation of these would make excellent additional closets in a bedroom. Hmmmm…. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you do!

also guilty…actually I make my final plans as I am going along and I make 10,000 trips to Lowes LOL

Yep, that’s me! I need to revist this mudroom project, but cannot settle on a final plan. My husband keeps telling me to “just put some coat hooks up and be done with it”, but I can’t do that…

NO no no… that looks messy after a while and it will drive you crazy. Have you ever been on gardenweb.org? You can post a photo of your room with your inspirations and they will help you sort out the details. Here is a good example of a post going on http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/build/msg1213271524411.html. What I do is keep all my progress and dialog on my blog but when I run into problems I go to gardenweb and post. They go back and forth between the blog and the forum. LOL sounds confusing but its fun

Thanks! I’ll check that out!
